Weather in the Sacred Valley
March marks the transition into early autumn in Peru's Andean Highlands, offering one of the most pleasant times to visit the Sacred Valley. Days are typically warm, sunny, and comfortable, while evenings become cool and crisp.
As the rainy season comes to an end, occasional light showers are still possible, but they are generally brief and refreshing. The landscape is especially lush during this time of year, with vibrant green mountainsides, blooming flora, and abundant wildlife creating a spectacular natural setting.
You can expect daytime temperatures to average around 65°F-78 degrees, with evening lows near 42°F. We recommend dressing in layers so you can comfortably enjoy the warm afternoons and cooler mornings and evenings.
The Sun & Weather Pattern in March in High Altitude Area
High Intensity: Because the Sacred Valley sits at a high altitude (roughly 9,800 feet) and close to the equator, the atmosphere is thinner, letting in much harsher UV radiation than at sea level.
Intermittent Clouds: March is the tail end of the rainy season. Mornings often start misty or overcast, but when the sun breaks through or peaks out midday, it can feel very warm and immediate.

Enjoy three abundant vegetarian buffet meals per day. Most ingredients are sourced from the organic farms of Sach’a Munay, the NGO which Munay Sonqo supports who also provides us with hearty organic eggs. Meals are vegetarian, however, chicken and fish can be served upon request.
The kitchen proudly works with Peruvian chefs who love to adapt their cooking to each unique group’s needs and desires. Please ensure to let us know all dietary preferences and requests prior to the retreat start.

Pure Mountain Spring Water
One of the many gifts of Munay Sonqo is its abundant supply of pure mountain spring water. The water flowing from every faucet originates high in the surrounding Andes, where it is naturally sourced from mountain springs.
For added peace of mind, all drinking water is further purified through a Kangen water filtration system, providing fresh, clean, and refreshing water throughout your stay. We encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle to refill and enjoy the exceptional quality of the Sacred Valley's mountain water.
